Catering in the Heritage District, downtown Gilbert.

Private parties, corporate receptions and rehearsal dinners around Water Tower Plaza, the Hale Theatre and the blocks along Gilbert Road.

Catering in Heritage District

The original town, and the busiest few blocks in the East Valley.

The Heritage District is where Gilbert started, and it has become one of the most concentrated restaurant and nightlife strips in the Valley — Joe's Real BBQ, Liberty Market, Postino East and The Farmhouse all within a short walk of the water tower.

That density is the opportunity and the problem. There are event spaces here, lofts above the street and rooms attached to venues, but almost none of them were built as event spaces, and the district's own calendar runs constantly: the Downtown Concert Series, the Gilbert Art Walk every other week from October through March, and Water Tower Plaza in near-permanent use.

Most of our downtown work is private — rehearsal dinners, corporate receptions in loft spaces, milestone parties in rooms that came with a prep sink and a good story. The buildings are old and the blocks are busy, and that is what shapes the plan more than anything on the menu.

Planning notes

What downtown Gilbert actually requires.

Old buildings and a packed public calendar. Four things we handle before the date.

  • Check the district calendar first

The Downtown Concert Series, the Art Walk every other week from October through March, and events at Water Tower Plaza all bring closures and parking pressure. We check your date against the city calendar before planning load-in.

  • Load-in on a busy block

Most Heritage District buildings have no loading dock, and Gilbert Road is not a street you can park a truck on at seven on a Friday. We walk the route first and plan a compact setup that fits what the building actually allows.

  • Kitchen access, or none

Many downtown rooms have a prep sink and nothing more. We arrive with our own cook line and work off it, so the venue's limitations do not shape your menu.

  • Parking is the guest experience

Downtown parking fills fast on any weekend evening. Tell guests where to park in the invitation rather than leaving them to circle, because that is the part of the night they will remember first.

Frequently asked

Catering in Heritage District, answered.

Do you cater private events in the Heritage District?

Yes. Rehearsal dinners, corporate receptions and milestone parties in downtown lofts, rooms and event spaces are a regular part of our work. We walk the space first, because these buildings vary enormously in what they can actually support.

What if the space has no kitchen?

That is the norm downtown and it does not limit the menu. Many rooms here have a prep sink and nothing more, so we arrive with our own cook line and quiet generators and work off them.

Can you work around a downtown event weekend?

Yes. The Downtown Concert Series, the Art Walk from October through March and Water Tower Plaza events all bring closures and parking pressure. We check the city calendar against your date and plan load-in timing around it.

How do you load in with no dock?

We walk the route in advance and plan a compact setup that fits the building and the block. Gilbert Road is not somewhere a truck can sit on a Friday evening, so timing gets settled at the walkthrough rather than on the day.

How does your pricing work?

Every event is quoted individually rather than from a package tier. Tell us your guest count, the venue and the style of service you want, and you will have a written quote back, usually within an hour or two, that itemizes food, staffing, rentals and bar separately.
