The Val Vista Lakes Clubhouse Lets You Bring Your Own Caterer. Here's How to Use That.

Most club venues force an in-house package. This one doesn't, and that is worth real money.

Why this matters more than it sounds

Most clubhouse and resort venues require you to use their kitchen. That is convenient and it removes every lever you have on the largest line in your budget. If the room costs what it costs and the food costs what they say it costs, your only remaining choice is guest count.

The Val Vista Lakes ballroom permits outside caterers. That means the venue and the food are separate decisions, and you can spend where it matters to you.

Get four things in writing when you book

Vendor access window. What time can a caterer get in? An hour before guests is very different from four hours before, and it decides what is possible on the menu.

Kitchen terms. The clubhouse has a full industrial kitchen, which is unusual and genuinely useful. Confirm what your caterer may use, what has to be left clean, and whether anything is off limits.

End time, and who enforces it. The clubhouse sits among houses. The finish time is real.

What the room includes. Tables, chairs, linen, bar equipment, patio access, the bridal suite. Every one of those on the venue's list is one fewer on your rental invoice.

Use the water

The ballroom overlooks the lake and the patio has a cabana bar. An event that stays entirely indoors here has paid for a view and not used it. Move the reception drinks outside, plan the light so the water is still visible after dark, and let the room do what you booked it for.

Remember who lives there

This is a residential community, not a hotel. Sound limits and end times exist because people live twenty yards away, and they are enforced. Build the evening so the last course lands well before the music has to stop, rather than discovering the deadline during dessert.
